The Political Parties in Africa Project (PPA), supported by the Institute for Democracy, Citizenship and Public Policy in Africa (IDCPPA), invites paper proposals for our 6th annual conference on 04 & 11 April 2025. The conference will take place virtually.

We welcome papers on any aspect of political party activity on the continent, and early career researchers and doctoral students from Africa are particularly encouraged to apply. Please circulate this call widely to anyone you think might be interested.

To submit a proposal for the conference, please follow this link to a Google Form to complete the requested information, including contact details and an abstract, by 15 January 2025. If you are willing to serve as a discussant and/or chair, the form will allow you to make that indication. Please contact the PPA team (politicalpartiesafrica@uct.ac.za) if you have any questions and/or trouble accessing the Google Form.

We look forward to receiving your abstracts!

We do this by collecting data, developing online resources, providing analysis and research, holding conferences and workshops, and partnering with organisations and researchers around the world.
