Winner: Robtel Neajai Pailey (LSE), for her book Development,(Dual) Citizenship and Its Discontents in Africa: The Political Economy of Belonging to Liberia (Cambridge University Press).

The committee agreed on the following benchmarks: originality; quality of theoretical underpinnings; quality of empirical work; quality of field and archival research; contribution to the discipline of political science/comparative politics; representation of a variety of points of view in the discipline.
